Hey!

I’m Hamid, a systems engineer in Peshawar, Pakistan, architecting cloud-native AI. The code compiles; the rest is negotiable.

Systems engineer & open source contributor. I break big backend problems into small, deterministic code — isolated runtime sandboxes and backend orchestration layers at Cortexium, and high-concurrency pipelines for agentic AI and distributed systems.

I ship code to CNCF ecosystem projects and cloud infrastructure, studied at UET Peshawar, co-organize CNCF Community Peshawar and have solved 350+ LeetCode problems.

OpenEverest

Three merged pull requests to this open-source database provisioning platform, covering error handling and error reporting. Rebuilt a stale fix for backup timestamps that were synthesized instead of read from the database operator — rewritten from a clean base after the first attempt died in a merge conflict.

I broke the fix on purpose to prove the test caught the regression, then verified it on a real cluster: provisioned a database, ran a backup and diffed the timestamp against the operator’s record down to the second. A second, unrelated local-dev bug was filed separately.

Blog · Go

Tales of OpenEverest

A blog documenting the whole journey as it happens: actual PRs, review comments and mistakes, written down before memory smooths them over. Includes an architecture section mapping how OpenEverest is built, with diagrams, and Go notes written only after needing a concept. It’s also how I’m learning Go — from a real codebase with maintainers who push back.

AOSSIE · Python · PyTorch

EduAid

AI-powered quiz generation platform. Audited the backend setup and documented infrastructure gaps, lowering the barrier for new contributors. Then fixed an invalid PyTorch version pin that was breaking fresh installs, and added graceful error handling — restoring stability and cross-platform installs for the global developer community.

AOSSIE · React · GSAP

Resonate

Audited the Resonate website architecture and diagnosed a significant memory leak in the React cleanup lifecycle. Fixing the GSAP timeline instances improved frontend performance and prevented browser resource exhaustion.

Odysseus · FastAPI

NexusMail

Contributing back to Odysseus, the local-first AI workspace that passed 50k stars in days. After reviewing open issues and tracking context bottlenecks, I’m building a detached Python microservice that decouples text parsing, regex thread-stripping and priority mapping, cutting the local VRAM footprint. Development runs through an internal mock engine to avoid burning cloud API tokens.

Hacktoberfest · Python

TrailBird

Packed for Hacktoberfest Swabi, but the trip fell through — then a city-wide internet blackout left a 10–70 kB/s connection. I still shipped Week 1 of the DEV challenge: an offline bird-call identifier on the open BirdNET model with 42 passing tests, and honest about what isn’t proven yet.

Community

Oct 17

Co-organized our CNCF Peshawar event with Syed Hassan Tayyab and Ahmad Aziz: a sharp AI talk by Dr. Naveed Iftikhar, then his debut novel “Hold On”, a panel and a Q/A that ran long after the session ended. That’s what community looks like.

Helped run a seminar in SE Lab 1 at UET Peshawar: a deep dive into the real SDLC — planning, UI/UX, backend, QA and maintenance — with speaker Taimoor Iqbal. A packed lab of juniors, and straight advice: “Darna nahi hai.”
